The IYP was founded with the aim of teaching leadership and training skills to young people across the globe, enabling them to become excellent leaders, and to share handling tactics and preventive solutions for local, regional, national and international issues.
Every year, the IYP selects four young and talented people from each of 195 countries between the ages of 16 and 29. These 780 young people receive training and learn about leadership, communication, and techniques in crisis resolution as well as negotiation, tolerance, integrity, cooperation, human rights and responsibility principles.
The IYP meets with local, national and international leaders to share ideas on how to create a more prosperous and peaceful world. Together, they work towards the United Nations’ (UN) 17 global goals for sustainable development in the period 2015-2030.
The 17 goals include: poverty reduction, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, clean and sustainable energy, employment and economic growth, renovating and developing good infrastructure, inequality reduction, urbanisation and sustainable communities, responsible consumption and production, action to respond to climate change, water resources; land resources, peace, justice and strong institutions, and cooperation to realise goals.
Although each country has its own groups for talented youth, there is not yet any organisation in the world that converges the best of these young people. Even the UN currently has only a group of about 20 people from just a few countries, and does not yet fully represent the multicultural and multi-ethnic nature of our world. The IYP is a global project, focusing on solving not only the 17 goals that the UN has identified, but also specific issues relevant to each continent.
The board of directors‘ mission is to search for, screen and select the most suitable candidates to join the IYP. In her new role, Phuong will act as a teacher, trainer, mentor and motivator to help improve candidates. In any sphere, before you can change or improve something around you, you have to change and improve yourself first.
The IYP welcomes individuals who dare to step out of their comfort zone, express their bravery and prove their desire to spread good values to the community and contribute to society. Beside being well-known as an international speaker and trainer, Dang Kim Phuong is also an expert in meditation, astrology and psychology. Her company, Master Phuong, applies coaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming method (two branches of Brain Science) to help thousands of customers achieve their goals.
In 2018, she was invited to speak at a number of overseas educational events as part of the International Peace Summit organised in New York, Canada, New Delhi, Australia, Cairo, and Morocco.
As the international ambassador of the Global Peace and Prosperity Initiative (GPPI), Phuong actively participates in the educational activities of this non-profit organisation in more than 80 countries.
